1. What Are Cookies?

  • Third-party cookies: Set by external services we use, such as Google (authentication) and PayPal (payments). These are governed by those third parties' own cookie policies.

2. Cookies We Use

ListingSet uses a minimal and purposeful set of cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, behavioral tracking cookies, or social media tracking pixels.

2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the Service to function. Without them, you cannot log in or use authenticated features. They cannot be disabled without breaking the Service.

Maintains your authenticated session. Set when you sign in with Google. Without this cookie, you are logged out on every page load.

next-auth.csrf-tokenEssentialDuration: Session

Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) protection token. Ensures that form submissions and authentication requests originate from our site and not a malicious third party.

next-auth.callback-urlEssentialDuration: Session

Stores the URL to redirect you to after a successful login, so you return to the page you were trying to access.

__Secure-next-auth.session-tokenEssentialDuration: 30 days

Secure variant of the session token used in production environments over HTTPS.

__Host-next-auth.csrf-tokenEssentialDuration: Session

Secure variant of the CSRF token used in production environments.

2.2 Functional Cookies

These cookies enable additional functionality but are not strictly required for the Service to operate. Disabling them may reduce certain features.

refFunctionalDuration: 30 days

Stores an affiliate referral code when you arrive at ListingSet via an affiliate link. Used to attribute the referral to the correct affiliate partner for commission purposes. Set only if you arrive via an affiliate link.

inviteFunctionalDuration: 30 days

Stores a friend referral code when you arrive at ListingSet via a referral link shared by an existing user. Used to award bonus credits to both you and the referring user upon signup. Set only if you arrive via a referral link.

salesFunctionalDuration: 30 days

Stores a salesperson referral code when you arrive at ListingSet via a link shared by a ListingSet sales representative. Used to attribute your signup to the correct salesperson. Set only if you arrive via a sales link.

cookie_consentFunctionalDuration: 1 year

Stores your cookie consent preference (accepted or declined) so we do not show you the cookie banner on every visit. Stored in browser local storage.

2.3 Analytics Cookies

We use Vercel Analytics to understand how users interact with the Service. This helps us identify popular features, detect performance issues, and make improvements. Vercel Analytics collects anonymized data and does not use personal identifiers.

Vercel AnalyticsAnalyticsDuration: Session

Collects anonymized page view data including page URL, referrer, country, browser, and device type. No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected or stored by Vercel Analytics. Data is aggregated and cannot be linked to individual users.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some features of ListingSet involve third-party services that may set their own cookies on your device. We do not control these cookies and they are governed by those parties' own policies.

Google (Authentication)

When you click "Sign in with Google", you are redirected to Google's sign-in page, which may set cookies related to your Google session and security tokens. These are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

PayPal (Payments)

When you initiate a PayPal payment, PayPal's scripts run in the checkout flow and may set session and fraud-prevention cookies. These are governed by PayPal's Privacy Policy. PayPal cookies are only active during the checkout process.

4. What We Do Not Do

  • We do not use cookies to display targeted advertising.
  • We do not track your activity across other websites.
  • We do not sell or share cookie data with data brokers or advertising networks.
  • We do not use social media tracking pixels (Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, etc.).
  • We do not use fingerprinting or other tracking technologies beyond those described in this policy.
  • We do not share anonymized analytics data with any third party beyond Vercel.

5. Your Cookie Choices

5.1 Cookie Consent Banner

When you first visit ListingSet, a cookie consent banner will appear. You may:

  • Accept all cookies: Enables essential, functional, and analytics cookies as described in this policy.
  • Decline: Only strictly necessary cookies (authentication and security) will be set. Analytics and functional cookies will not be activated.

Your preference is saved in your browser's local storage for 1 year. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's site data or contacting us.

5.2 Browser Settings

You can control or delete cookies directly through your browser settings. Instructions for common browsers:

Vercel Analytics respects the browser's Do Not Track (DNT) signal. If you have DNT enabled in your browser, Vercel Analytics will not collect data from your visits. You can also opt out by declining cookies via our consent banner.

6. Data Collected via Cookies

The data collected through the cookies described in this policy may include:

  • Encrypted session identifiers (never your password or sensitive personal data).
  • Anonymized page view counts and navigation paths.
  • Country of origin (derived from IP address for analytics; IP is not stored).
  • Browser type and operating system (for analytics only).
  • Referring website (if you arrived from another page).

We do not use cookies to collect sensitive personal data such as health information, financial data, or precise location.

7. Retention of Cookie Data

Cookie data is retained for as long as the cookie itself is active (see the duration column in Section 2). Analytics data collected by Vercel is retained for 90 days in its detailed form and then aggregated anonymously. We do not retain raw cookie values on our servers beyond what is needed for session management.
